Moldova: Sales of Pay TV services increased in the first quarter of 2021, compared to the same period in 2020, by 3.1% and amounted to about 47 million lei.

The National Agency for the Regulation of Electronic Communications and Information Technologies (ANRCETI) reported this, noting that the increase in revenue from the sale of Pay TV services was due to the growth in sales of IP TV network providers. The volume of these sales in January-March 2021, compared to the same period in 2020, increased by 13.6% and amounted to 34.8 million lei. At the same time, sales of pay TV service providers through coaxial cable networks decreased by 18.4% - to 12.2 million lei. As a result of such dynamics, the average monthly income per subscriber (ARPU) of Pay TV services decreased in the first quarter of 2021 by 2.8% and amounted to 43.3 lei. According to ANRCETI estimates, at the end of the 1st quarter of this year, the largest providers of Pay TV services occupied the following market shares in terms of income: Moldtelecom - 35.1%, TV BOX - 34.8%, Orange Moldova - 5.6%.
