A raid takeover occurred at the Topaz plant in Chisinau – the plant’s CEO, Inna Linnik, was not allowed to enter the premises on Friday
According to Logos Press, this happened on the orders of the new management, whose powers have not been confirmed by anyone. Representatives of the press were told that on March 6, 2025, the Topaz plant was transferred under the control of individuals who cannot explain their connection to the facility. Currently, the position of general director is held by a certain Yuksel Maxim Onur (a Turkish citizen), and his deputy is Oskar Vaisman. The appointed managers present themselves as the new owners. They are contacting state institutions and banks on behalf of the company, issuing powers of attorney, filing lawsuits, and dismissing factory personnel. At the same time, there is no record in the Moldovan State Register confirming the powers of the self-appointed management of Topaz after the cancellation of its insolvency proceedings (as of February 25, 2025). According to Inna Linnik, the factory has substantial assets of 400 million lei on its balance sheet, including factory equipment and a 4-hectare plot of land in central Chisinau. On May 2, Inna Linnik received an extract from the Public Services Agency clearly stating that she is the sole legal administrator of Topaz and is financially responsible for all of the company's assets. She officially stated that she has been blocked from entering the plant and that she and her family have been threatened with physical violence, making it impossible to control the process and guarantee the safety of the property. It should be noted that this is a strategic facility that is currently under sanctions. At the end of 2023, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a decree imposing new sanctions against Russia, which affected 181 companies and 185 citizens. Among them are the Topaz plant in Chisinau and its CEO Inna Linnik. These sanctions completely halt trade operations, freeze assets, prohibit the withdrawal of capital from Ukraine, and suspend trade agreements, including the transit of resources and transportation through Ukraine. Most of the assets of the Topaz plant in Chisinau, which manufactures microelectronics for aircraft engines, are owned by the United Engine Corporation (UEC), a subsidiary of Rostec, which is subject to EU and US sanctions. Before the war, it supplied Russia with components for aircraft parts and equipment for their production. In October 2023, the plant was sold for €16 million to a Russian company which, according to some sources, is controlled by businessman Victor Slevinsky. The Moldovan authorities have not yet responded to the events surrounding the raid seizure of the Topaz plant, Logos Press notes.//02.05.2025 – InfoMarket.
