Since July 1, 2014, Energocom has been operating on the natural gas market of Moldova as a supplier of natural gas, has the right to supply natural gas at unregulated prices, import gas for the needs of the internal gas market of Moldova, conclude direct contracts for the supply of natural gas from imported sources as supplier, with gas supply companies, transmission operators, etc. At the end of the first half of 2022, the authorized capital of Energocom amounted to 2 billion 023 million lei. As InfoMarket agency previously reported, the authorized capital of the state company Energocom will be increased by 1 billion 050 million lei as part of an additional issue at the expense of funds allocated to it from the state budget. The corresponding decision was made on October 19, 2022 by the Commission for Emergency Situations in order to ensure the conditions necessary for the continuation of natural gas supplies by Moldovagaz. On October 20, Energocom provided Moldovagaz with a loan of 1 billion 050 million lei to pay for natural gas. The companies signed loan and pledge agreements. The pledge agreement was registered with a notary and entered in the Register of Guarantees of Movable Property. Energocom provided Moldovagaz with a loan with a maturity date of May 1, 2023, the interest rate on the loan is equal to the base rate of the National Bank (currently 20% per annum). The loan repayment is guaranteed by the pledge of all assets of the gas transmission network (transport networks, equipment, installations and other related fixed assets), as well as 100% of Moldovagaz's share in the authorized capital of Moldovatransgaz.
