The Ministry of Health has revised the treatment protocols in respect of COVID-19.
According to the Ministry of Health, all persons suspected of being infected with coronavirus will be tested, and until the test result is obtained, they will be considered as potentially infected with COVID-19. They will be provided with treatment according to their needs. Individuals with asymptomatic forms of COVID-19 will not be prescribed treatment. Patients with COVID-19 symptoms who are being treated at home and with associated risk factors that may worsen the condition are advised to monitor their oxygen saturation levels. Patients with mild forms of COVID-19 are not recommended to prescribe antibiotics and glucocorticosteroids, including for prophylactic purposes. According to the updated protocols, patients with COVID-19 will be actively screened for concomitant infectious diseases, and concomitant infections (influenza, acute respiratory infections, and tuberculosis) or chronic diseases will be taken into account in the care process. Patients who have indications for the use of Remdesivir should be prescribed treatment as early as possible (1-6 days after the illness), including anticoagulants. Increased attention will also be paid to psychosocial support for the rapid assessment of anxiety and depressive symptoms in patients who have undergone COVID-19. In addition, before discharge, patients with COVID-19 will be screened to identify the need for rehabilitation in order to facilitate further referral to specialists. Pregnant and lactating women will have access to qualified medical care, regardless of status (suspected COVID or confirmed case), and children with COVID-19 are advised to be under the supervision of a parent / guardian whenever possible.
