Construction of buildings in green spaces of cities and villages will be prohibited in Moldova.
This is provided for by the relevant amendments to the Law on Green Spaces in Urban and Rural Areas, which the parliament adopted in the first reading to suppress acts of corruption and protectionism. The changes are intended to prevent fraudulent interference with green spaces, illegal schemes and corruption that have favored construction projects on sites incompatible with their intended purpose. It was agreed that only playgrounds for sports, games and recreation, cultural objects, as well as mobile commercial points can be located in green spaces. Permits for the placement of these objects and structures will be issued by the local public administration. In addition, according to the new provisions, the construction or unauthorized placement of objects in green areas will be ascertained and punished by both the Environmental Inspectorate and local authorities. It is planned to stipulate in the Code of Contraventions that the construction of publicly owned facilities on green spaces and / or the placement of facilities incompatible with the purpose of green spaces shall be sanctioned by a fine of 60 to 90 conventional units charged from individuals, 210 to 270 conventional units- from officials, 240 to 300 conventional units from legal entities. At the same time, unauthorized placement on publicly owned green spaces of objects for socio-economic activities compatible with the purpose of green spaces (sports facilities, facilities for games and recreation, cultural objects, mobile commercial points) will be punished by charging a fine of 18 to 24 conventional units from individuals or punishment in the form of unpaid work in favor of the society for a period of 20 to 60 hours and for legal entities - a fine of 180 to 240 conventional units. // 07.12.2021 - InfoMarket
