
The profit of insurance companies in the first half of 2021 amounted to about 73.5 million lei, only 1 of 11 insurance companies suffered losses.
As InfoMarket was informed in the National Commission on Financial Market, the profit of licensed insurance companies of Moldova (before tax) in January-June 2021 amounted to 73.48 million lei, which is 8.8% higher than the indicators of the same period in 2020 (67.51 million lei). Herewith, 1 of 11 insurance companies ended the first half of the year with losses (Acord Grup - 1.47 million lei), the rest made a profit. The largest profit was received by Grawe Carat Asigurari - 22.86 million lei (-11.7% compared to the same period in 2020). At the end of June 2021, the total assets of insurance companies in Moldova amounted to 3 billion 339.77 million lei (+ 10.5% compared to the situation at the end of June last year). The available solvency margin in general insurance ranged from 5.62% to 423%, and in life insurance - 654.07%. The liquidity ratio varied from 0.18% to 79.91% in the general insurance sector and amounted to 72.41% in the life insurance segment. In January-June 2021, insurance companies collected premiums for 878 million lei (+ 29.1%) and paid compensations for 306.72 million lei (-0.3%). General data on the insurance market includes information on the activities of 11 licensed insurance companies. At the same time, the NCFM provided data on the activities of 4 companies that were previously left without a license: Alliance Insurance Group, Asito Direct, Galas and Sigur-Asigur. In the first half of 2021, Sigur-Asigur signed new premiums for 278.89 thousand lei. With the exception of Alliance Insurance Group, all insurance companies that remained without licenses paid indemnities in January-June, their total amount exceeding 5.1 million lei.
