Wines from Moldova entered the TOP of the best foreign wines in Russia, compiled by experts from Roskachestvo (Роскачество).

Wines from Moldova entered the TOP of the best foreign wines in Russia, compiled by experts from Roskachestvo (Роскачество).

In particular, Roskachestvo completed the first large-scale study of the top sales of imported wine in Russia. Experts have evaluated 126 wines from 13 countries in the price range up to 1,500 rubles on the shelves of Russian stores. The positions for analysis were selected based on the results of the work of analysts who identified for each of the leading countries in wine imports to Russia the most popular samples with a circulation of 183 thousand to 11 million liters that came to the Russian Federation during the year. The study was carried out by a "blind" tasting commission - the experts did not know either the brands of the wines or the countries of origin. As a result, the Moldovan wines included in the rating received a good assessment from experts: table white semi-sweet wine "Muscatel" series "Letto" (manufacturer "Issy Spirits", Moldova) and table semi-sweet red wine Kvint classic Merlot, series "Classic" (manufacturer "Issy Spirits"). Among the leading countries in terms of the number of samples presented in the study (the classic countries of the Old World of world winemaking: Spain, Italy, France), the highest average score was assigned to the wines of Spain (although traditional competitors - Italy and France - were inferior to the Spaniards only slightly). As noted by analysts, 39% of wines scored above the survey average and exceeded 81 points on a 100-point scale. In the "national standings" the wines of New Zealand and Portugal showed the most even high quality (however, there were not many of them in the survey - only 3 and 4 samples, respectively). Experts also highly appreciated Moldovan wines (2 positions in the rating). According to Roskachestvo, the best wine in the study with a score of 85.01 points was dry red wine from Italy - Oro Dei Sani Passo Rosso Terre di Chieti. The top 3 dry red wines also include 2 Spanish wines: Crianza Rioja Gran Familia and Castillo Santa Barbara Reserva. The best semi-dry red wine is Le Grand Noir Cabernet Sauvignon from France. Semi-dry red wines from Chile were also highly rated by experts: Espiritu de Chili Carmenere and Sunrise Cabernet Sauvignon. Among the semisweet red wines, according to experts, the Spanish Vizconde de Begijar and Kvint classic from Moldova deserve mention. Popular Georgian semi-sweet red wines have not been appreciated by experts. Among dry white wines, experts noted the highest ratings: Taka Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough (New Zealand), Le Grand Noir Chardonnay (France), Brancott Estate (New Zealand). The best marks in the semi-dry white category were shown by: Cielo Puglia Trebbiano Pinot Grigio (Italy), Epicuro Pinot Grigio Terre Siciliane IGP (Italy) and Mare Alta Blanc (Portugal). The most interesting semi-sweet white wines in the study were Santa Luz Alba Moscato (Chile) and Liebfraumilch Rhenhessen Peter Mertes (Germany). Among rosé wines, such brands as Mare Alta vinho verde Rose (Portugal), Sanprimo Rosato Puglia (Italy), Mateus rose (Portugal) scored high marks. Martini Prosecco became the leader among dry sparkling wines and brut. The top 3 includes 2 more sparkling wines from Italy - Masconi Prosecco DOC and ISSI Prosecco. Among the wines with a higher sweetness, the best was sweet sparkling - Gancia Asti (Italy), on second place was the semisweet Moscato Corte Dei Rovi (Italy). Sweet sparkling Cinzano Asti also entered the top of the leaders. // 07.04.2021 – InfoMarket
