The Comrat sub-zone of the FEZ "Industrial Park" Valkanes " will be expanded for the implementation of an investment project of one of the transnational companies working in the field of electrical wiring for cars.

The corresponding decision was made by the parliament, having approved in two readings the amendments to the Law on the Free Enterprise Zone - Valkanes Industrial Park. The changes provide for the expansion of the sub-zone in Comrat municipality free enterprise zone "Industrial park" Valkanes " due to the inclusion of a land plot with an area of 0.9655 hectares, located on the street Buzin 2 in Comrat, which was transferred to the administration of the production park by the decision of the municipal council. The bill also provides for the transfer to the administration of this park of a building located on this land plot with an area of 3,732.2 square meters, which is state property and is currently under the jurisdiction of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Moldova. As the authors of the bill noted, this building as a warehouse was in a dilapidated state for a long time. In 2017, by agreement between the Executive Committee of Gagauzia and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Moldova, the building was transferred for temporary use to the mayor's office of Comrat and reconstructed at the expense of the regional and local budget for production facilities with the creation of the necessary infrastructure and engineering communications. The total amount of funds spent on reconstruction exceeded 12.1 million lei. Also, an agreement was signed between the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the mayor's office of Comrat on the construction of a new building complex to accommodate the Regional Department of Emergency Situations. Construction costs are borne by the municipality budget. For the construction of a new complex of the regional center for emergency situations, the authorities of Comrat have allocated a plot of 2 hectares, located in a convenient place for the work of the service. Upon completion of the construction of the new building, according to the agreement, the owners will exchange buildings. The land plot proposed for inclusion in the free zone, as well as the building located on it, represent a developed production site: a fence has been erected along the perimeter of the territory, there is all the necessary infrastructure (water, sewage, electricity, gas). For the organization of production and inclusion in the customs zone, no additional costs are required. In addition, there are currently potential investors with promising investment projects who are ready to locate production at this facility. In particular, one of the transnational companies working in the field of electrical wiring for the automotive industry expressed its intention to open a large industrial production in a short time. The company intends to establish production from 2021. At the first stage, it is planned to create 150 new jobs. The implementation of the investment project will have a positive impact on the socio-economic situation in the city and in the region, and will also have an impact on improving the well-being of the population. In addition, given the complexity of industrial production, investors intend to conduct personnel training. As a consequence, among the expected effects of new production will be not only an increase in revenues to the local and state budget and a reduction in unemployment, but also an increase in the professional qualifications of workers.// 17.12.2020 — InfoMarket.
