
In the fourth quarter of 2024, Moldova expects relative stability of economic activity and moderate growth in prices for food and goods
This was reported by the National Bureau of Statistics, citing the results of a business survey conducted in the third quarter of 2023. As noted by the NBS, according to the surveyed managers, in the fourth quarter of 2024, Moldova expects: relative stability of economic activity, sales revenues and the number of employees, as well as a moderate increase in prices for products and raw materials. In particular, managers of the manufacturing industry predict a moderate improvement in the economic situation and sales revenues, the number of employees and prices for industrial products for the fourth quarter of 2024. According to managers of construction companies, in the fourth quarter of 2024 there will be relative stability of the economic situation and sales revenues; at the same time, they expect a moderate decrease in the number of employees and a moderate increase in prices for construction work. In the retail and services sector, in the fourth quarter, a moderate improvement in the economic situation and sales prices is predicted, with relative stability of sales revenues and the number of employees. It is worth noting that enterprises with more than 50 employees are more optimistic about the prospects for the economic situation and sales revenue, and managers of companies with up to 50 employees predict higher price growth than managers of larger enterprises. According to the survey, 59% of respondents faced restrictions in economic activity in the third quarter of 2024. They named insufficient market demand as the main reason for limiting economic activity (31.4% of respondents reported this). The activities of enterprises are also negatively affected by a shortage of skilled labor (23.1%), financial problems (19.5%), the consequences of the crisis caused by the war in Ukraine (14.0%), and the availability of raw materials (4.7%).// 28.10.2024 — InfoMarket
