
The Moldovan Finance Ministry and the U.S. will intensify strategic cooperation and develop solutions to meet the current challenges for Moldova
This was stated during a meeting that Finance Minister Victoria Belous held within the framework of her participation in the annual meetings of the IMF and the World Bank in Washington with a delegation of the US Finance Ministry, headed by Deputy Assistant Secretary for Europe and Eurasia Brian McCauley. The Finance Ministry said that during the discussions, they analyzed Moldova's macroeconomic prospects, strategic cooperation, as well as assistance projects offered to the Moldovan Finance Ministry and its subordinate institutions. An important point of the dialogue was the U.S. Ministry of Finance's assistance program to the Internal Revenue Service, which supports tax officials in implementing key reforms, such as transfer pricing and international tax legislation, improved controls and tax services, etc. “Our partnership with the U.S. Treasury Department is an important pillar in strengthening the public finance sector and modernizing Moldova's economic tools. We remain committed to promoting responsible and efficient financial policies, in line with international standards, in order to ensure stability and sustainable development of our financial sector,” Victoria Belous said.
