Average inflation in Moldova will remain within the target range in the medium term - WB

World Bank experts expressed this opinion within the Economic Press Club meeting, where the economic prospects of Moldova from the new World Bank Economic Outlook were presented. They noted that the rise in food prices, caused by the summer drought and the ongoing easing of the monetary policy, is expected to be counterbalanced by the still anemic domestic demand and the stabilization of fuel prices until the end of the year. In the medium term, inflation is projected to hover above the upper end of the target range, stabilizing around 5%. WB experts point out that inflation remains sensitive to various supply-side factors, especially those arising from geopolitical uncertainty, energy prices and climatic conditions. The NBM is expected to maintain a flexible exchange rate regime and intervene in the foreign exchange market when necessary to stabilize the national currency and keep inflation within the target range. //25.10.2024 - InfoMarket.
