Finance Minister Victoria Belous discussed with IMF and WB representatives the budgetary situation and the financial sector assessment program
The meetings with them took place in Washington, within the participation of a delegation of representatives of the Finance Ministry and the National Bank of Moldova in the annual meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund. The Finance Ministry said that on the first day, the delegation had important meetings, including with the WB Global Director for Finance Jean Pesme, Alina Iancu and the IMF team for Moldova, IMF Deputy Managing Director Kenji Okamura, and Deputy Director of the IMF's European Department Mark Horton. The discussions were focused on international cooperation, current and future projects, the budgetary situation and topics related to the program of assessment of Moldova's financial sector. In the following days, the Moldovan delegation will hold meetings with representatives of the European Investment Bank, the finance ministries of North Macedonia and Croatia, the French Development Agency (AFD) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
