In April 2021, the monthly inflation in Moldova amounted to 1.48%, the annual (over the last 12 months) - 2.83%, and in January-April of this year - 3.31%.
This was reported by the National Bureau of Statistics, noting that in April last year the monthly inflation was 0.17%, inflation in January-April 2020 - 0.86%, and the annual inflation in April last year - 5.25%. As noted in the NBM, consumer prices in April 2021 increased by an average of 1.48% compared to the previous month, against the background of an increase in prices for food products - by 3.18% and for non-food products - by 0.63%, as well as an increase in tariffs for services provided to the population by 0.34%. According to official statistics, in particular, in April 2021, compared to the previous month, the following food products rose in price: young potatoes - by 18%, fresh vegetables - by 13.8% (in particular: cabbage - by 510%, tomatoes - by 19%, cucumbers - by 13.9%, garlic - by 13.6%, onions - by 3.9%, melons - by 3.3%, fresh mushrooms - by 2.6%), fresh fruits - by 4% (in particular: exotic fruits - by 9.8%, citrus - by 4.8%, grapes - by 3.5%), oils and fats - by 3.5% (in particular: vegetable oil - by 8.1%, other edible fats of animal origin - by 6.8%, margarine and other vegetable fats - by 4.3%), mayonnaise, mustard, vinegar and other spices - by 3.2%, cereals - by 2.8%, meat, semi-finished meat products and canned food - by 2.2% (in particular: pork - by 5.2%, lamb - by 3.3%, beef - by 1.8%, poultry - by 1.7 %, semi-finished products and finished meat products - by 1.5%), fish and canned fish - by 1.6% (in particular: fresh or frozen fish - by 3.8%, frozen seafood - 1.4%), fresh whole milk - 0.9%, sugar - 0.8%. Herewith, in the reporting period, prices for chicken eggs fell by 2.9%, root crops - by 2.4%. If we talk about non-food products, then in April 2021, compared to the previous month, an increase in prices was recorded for: fuel - by 1.6% (in particular, gasoline - by 2.8%, liquefied gas in cylinders - by 1.8%, diesel fuel - by 1.2%), sports equipment, equipment for camping and outdoor recreation, computers and other information processing equipment, sandals for men, women, children, bicycles, materials for maintenance and repair at home - up to 3.9%. At the same time, in the same reporting month, prices for: winter footwear for adults and children, for clothes made of natural fur for adults decreased slightly to 4.2%.
