The number of liquidated enterprises in Moldova is growing every year.

According to the Agency of Public Services, in 2020 11,910 economic entities were excluded from the state registers, which is 17.2% more than in 2019. This is the highest indicator of liquidated enterprises in the last two decades. For comparison, in 2019 were liquidated 10166 enterprises, in 2018 - 8895, in 2017 - 8540, in 2016 - 4055 enterprises. 5-6 thousand economic entities were registered annually. INCE notes that the business experienced a serious shock last year. The World Bank estimates that 10.8% of companies have closed in the country. Micro and small enterprises in the service sector suffered the most, where about 14% of companies went bankrupt. INCE economists note that the negative effects of this trend will be felt in the coming years, as it is reflected in the employment of the population and the growth of unemployment. “The closure of companies remains the reason for the outflow of labor. This means that economic growth will continue to be based on consumption, fueled by the remittances of our fellow citizens, ”says INCE. // 22.04.2021 — InfoMarket
