Maib launches SEPA transfers via maibank and maib business

Maib announces the launch of international euro payments through SEPA (Single Euro Payments Area) – the European system that ensures fast, secure, and efficient transfers. This milestone marks the Republic of Moldova’s connection to the European Union’s payment network.

What is SEPA

SEPA – the Single Euro Payments Area – is used across all European Union countries and several partner states. Its main goal is to standardize euro transfers so that they are as simple and efficient as domestic payments.
Moldova’s accession to SEPA means that funds sent to and from Europe will now move through the same modern payment infrastructure, fully aligned with European standards.

How it works

From now on, maib clients – individuals – can send and receive SEPA transfers directly through the maibank app, while business clients can do so via the maib business platform.

Benefits of SEPA

  •      - euro transfers at lower costs compared to the SWIFT system;
  •      - faster processing of funds;
  •      - payments compliant with European standards.

For individual clients, SEPA brings greater simplicity and speed in sending or receiving money across Europe, directly through the maibank app.
For companies, it offers lower costs, greater efficiency in international transactions, and new opportunities for business expansion and stronger partnerships.
With this launch, maib reaffirms its commitment to providing modern, secure, and accessible digital services – bringing customers closer to innovation and to the European economic space.
