Bakai Bank representatives visit maib: a journey of shared knowledge and agile transformation

Maib proudly welcomed a delegation from Bakai Bank, Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, on August 9-10, 2024.
This visit was a key opportunity for the representatives of Bakai Bank to discover how maib has successfully implemented an agile way of working, revolutionizing our operations and enhancing our ability to deliver exceptional customer experiences.

The primary goal of the visit was for the Bakai Bank representatives to gain insight into maib's agile transformation journey. They explored the organizational structure of our agile teams and learned about the core values that drive our success, namely the fact that we are guided by a clear purpose: to create smart and simple financial and lifestyle solutions that inspire people to be happier and businesses more successful. This purpose is deeply rooted in our commitment to our customers, who remain at the center of every decision we make. Whether it’s product development or service delivery, our focus is on meeting customer aspirations and overcoming challenges with excellence.

Throughout the visit, maib leaders and managers shared detailed insights into how each business line has adapted to the agile way of working, with a special emphasis on digitalization. From IT and Compliance to Retail, Business Banking, and Operations, the delegation was introduced to the various facets of our agile approach and how it has been integrated across the organization.

The Bakai Bank representatives also had the opportunity to visit several key maib locations, including our premium alto zone, the mortgage center, and the Contact Center. These visits provided a comprehensive view of how maib’s front-office operations are structured to provide outstanding customer service.

Giorgi Shagidze, maib CEO:
“Agile transformation is a game changer for many companies.  We, at maib, understand that this transformation is a complex process, which requires a lot of resources, time, and efforts to implement. This transformation happens because the expectations of our customers change, and we need to keep up with their needs. The bank that always wants to give the best products and services for their customers has to change and adapt quickly.”

Aliona Stratan, First Deputy chairwoman of the Management Board at maib:
“When we open our doors to share knowledge, we are not just exchanging information—we are lighting the way for innovation. By learning from each other, we push the boundaries of what’s possible. This visit is a testament to our belief that the greatest progress comes from working together, united by a common goal to better serve our customers.”

During their visit, the representatives of Bakai Bank not only explored the innovative world of maib but also had the chance to discover the enchanting beauty of Moldova. From the rolling vineyards that produce our world-renowned wines to the historic places tucked away in lush green valleys, our guests were immersed in the rich culture and stunning landscapes that define our homeland. This experience offered them a deeper understanding of the spirit of Moldova - a land where tradition meets progress, and where the warmth of our people is as enduring as the beauty of our natural surroundings. Just as maib is committed to inspiring its customers, Moldova itself inspires all who visit, leaving a lasting impression of a place where possibilities are as boundless as the horizons.

The visit concluded with a shared commitment to future collaborations, where the exchange of ideas and experiences will continue to fuel innovation and excellence. As the representatives of Bakai Bank return to Kyrgyzstan, they carry with them not just new insights, but also the spirit of agility that defines maib. This visit marks the beginning of a journey, where both institutions will continue to evolve, inspired by the knowledge and experiences shared.
