Emergency Agricultural Loan for SMEs - available at maib

Maib announces its participation in the support mechanism for farmers, the Emergency Agricultural Loan, an initiative of the Government aimed at supporting micro and small agricultural producers who grow cereals and have been affected by the crises of recent years.

A reliable partner for Moldovan farmers

As a bank dedicated to supporting the business environment and the development of the agricultural sector in the Republic of Moldova, maib is honoured to provide financial support to eligible entrepreneurs through this program.
The maximum loan amount is up to 500,000 lei, designed to support farmers' immediate needs for the spring 2024 planting season.

The loan offered has a maximum term of 18 months, with a guarantee commission fee of only 0.5% per annum of the guarantee balance and subsidised interest. The Organisation for the Development of Entrepreneurship (ODA) will consider applications submitted from March 1 to May 31 this year.

Participants in the program will benefit from three main advantages

90% ODA guarantee - a substantial guarantee that minimises financial risks for agricultural entrepreneurs and ensures greater accessibility to lending. The guarantee is valid for the entire term of the loan contract.

Interest subsidy - a financial incentive that reduces the interest burden, making loans more affordable.

6-month grace period on loan and interest - a facility that gives farmers the space to manage their cash flow without the immediate pressure of loan repayments and interest.

Effective use of resources
Loan funds may be used to purchase seed material, fuel or lubricants, fertilisers or plant protection products, mechanised agricultural services, and to cover the costs of labour remuneration for planting work in the spring 2024 season.

The initiative is designed ensures farmers have the necessary resources for successful production.
