At the same time, the average interest rate on new loans in foreign currency in May 2024 was 6.09%, up 0.05 percentage points compared to the previous month. The National Bank of Moldova reported that, the average interest rate on consumer loans issued in national currency increased by 0.05 percentage points (p.p.) and amounted to 11.09%, and the average interest rate on loans issued in national currency for the purchase of real estate increased by 0.09 percentage points, amounting to 7.71%. The average interest rate on loans issued to legal entities in national currency decreased by 0.02 percentage points - to 8.51%. At the same time, the average interest rate on loans issued to them in foreign currency increased by 0.04 percentage points - up to 6.08%.
