
The share of foreign investments in the capital of Moldovan banks amounted to 88.9% at the end of 2023, remaining unchanged compared to the previous year.
It is stated in the Annual Report of the National Bank of Moldova for 2023. It is noted that among foreign investors participating in the formation of the capital of Moldovan banks, there are banks from Italy, Romania, Hungary, European Bank for Reconstruction, as well as investors from Germany, Bulgaria, Netherlands, Austria, Estonia, Great Britain, Greece, and Iraq. Out of the total number of banks in Moldova, 4 of them have capital fully composed of foreign investments (including 3 subsidiaries of foreign banks and financial groups - EXIMBANK, BCR Chisinau and ProCredit Bank), 6 banks have capital composed foreign and domestic investments, and 1 bank has capital fully composed of domestic investments. // 04.06.2024 - InfoMarket.
