The corresponding draft was considered at the meeting of secretaries general on September 4. The rights and obligations of the Financial Inspectorate will be transferred to the new agency, and its staff will be 119 people. For comparison, the maximum number of the Financial Inspectorate today is 135 units, including 7 units of support staff, and its annual budget is 30 million lei, respectively, staff optimization is expected in the institution. The Financial Inspectorate will be reorganized in accordance with the Government Action Plan for 2023 in order to improve and increase the efficiency of the financial control of the Ministry of Finance, improve public finance and state property management processes, apply international standards, delineate powers and external audit functions. After the reorganization, the State Financial Control Inspectorate will be responsible for budgetary oversight; financial inspection; coordinating activities to combat financial violations; ensuring national control over European funding. It is planned that the State Financial Control Inspectorate will be endowed with a number of new control functions to ensure the protection of the financial interests of the state, as well as the correct and uniform application of the regulatory framework.
