Acceptance of applications for compensation for patent holders who are switching to independent activity has been extended until September 15.
The government made such a decision at a meeting on August 30. Deputy Prime Minister, Economic Development and Infrastructure Minister Dumitru Alaiba said that over the last two weeks, the number of former patent holders, who registered self-employment, has significantly increased. Given that August 31 is the last day when they can request compensation for part of the costs, it is proposed to extend the reception of applications for compensation for another two weeks - until September 15. Also it has been extended for two weeks (until September 30) the period of updating the State Tax Service list of individuals engaged in independent activity. The list of such taxpayers will be provided to the Organization for Entrepreneurship Development. Dumitru Alaiba drew attention to the fact that in the last two weeks the transition of patent holders to a new form of activity has intensified, and the extension of the deadline for the acceptance of applications will allow them to receive compensation. Currently, 2.9 thousand former trade patent holders (70% of the total number), have switched to a new tax regime. At the same time, 2.4 thousand of them have applied for compensation, while more than 1 thousand of them have already received payments totaling 6.6 million lei (6.4 thousand lei on average per 1 beneficiary out of the maximum possible 10 thousand lei). Compensation can be requested by individuals who, as of December 31, 2022, held patents for retail trade and who are registered as individuals engaged in individual activity. Expenses related to the purchase and installation of cash register equipment with fiscal memory or digital solutions related to them; expenses for the arrangement of the place of business; expenses related to the acquisition of fixed assets necessary to improve working conditions are subject to compensation. Let us remind that, for individuals with independent entrepreneurial activity it is provided a simplified form of tax reporting, and income tax is 1% of sales. At the same time, starting from July 1, the maximum limit of income from this activity was increased by 1.2 million lei in one tax period. This category of taxpayers must pay state social insurance contributions in a fixed amount (in 2023 - 1,225 lei monthly) and purchase a health insurance policy in a fixed amount (in 2023 - 1,622 lei). // 30.08.2023 - InfoMarket.
