
Moldova's external partners transferred 12.7 billion lei to our country's budget in 2022 with most of the money coming from the EU and its member states.
The EU Delegation to Moldova reported this, noting that the EU and its members are the main source of external financial support for Moldova's state budget. According to the Ministry of Finance, the largest external receipts of Moldova in 2022 totaling 5 billion 531 million lei were received from EU countries and institutions. At the same time, more than half of them were allocated in the form of grants. Last year, Moldova received from the European Commission 2 grants totaling 1 billion 763 million lei. The government of Germany provided a grant of 805.4 million lei and the government of Romania - 199.9 million lei. As for the loans, the state budget received from the French Development Agency 1 billion 530 million lei and from the European Commission and Poland - 692.4 million lei and 387 million lei respectively. Also the European Investment Bank (EIB) allocated 153.4 million lei for the Railway of Moldova company (CFM).
