The geographic location of land plots for construction in Moldova shall be taken into consideration while fixing the purchase and sale price.

This is provided for by the relevant bill on sale and purchase prices for land plots for construction, adopted by the parliament in the second reading. According to the document the sale price should be adjusted depending on the location of the land. According to the bill it will be allowed to apply the following coefficients when setting the normative price of land free for construction and intended for this purpose, except for land in Chisinau municipality. For example, 0.7 for Balti, Bender and Tiraspol municipalities and 0.5 for their affiliated settlements; 0.6 for Cahul, Causeni, Comrat, Edinet, Hincesti, Orhei, Ribnita, Soroca, Ungheni, Anenii Noi, Criuleni, Ialoveni, Straseni, Ceadir-Lunga towns; 0.1 for other towns; 0.5 for villages (communes). The authors of the bill - a group of MPs from the ruling PAS party - noted that the proposed changes will encourage economic agents to invest more in small towns.
