Preliminary purchase price of the gas supplied by Gazprom to Moldova in February will be about $1054 per thousand cubic meters.
Chairman of the board of Moldovagaz, Vadim Ceban, said this, recalling that the entire volume of gas from the Russian supplier was sent to Tiraspoltransgas, including for the production of electricity for Moldova's Right Bank. On January 4, Vadim Ceban noted that, according to preliminary data, the price for natural gas supplied by Gazprom would be $1230 per thousand cubic meters in January. Vadim Ceban explained that, under the contract conditions for natural gas supplies to Moldova between Gazprom and Moldovagaz, the contract price for natural gas is determined as a "reference price", which is calculated annually, based on the actual data on gas sales by Gazprom to Moldova for January 2023. In this regard, according to the contract between Gazprom and Moldovagaz, the "reference price" is calculated during the first month of supply of the current year.
