The government intends to develop a program of measures to bring Moldova out of the crisis, - Maia Sandu.

The President of Moldova stated this at the 10th international conference MACRO 2022, noting that our country faced three global crises: a pandemic, rising prices (in particular for energy resources) and regional security (due to the situation in Ukraine). The pandemic has forced the authorities to review their health policy and strengthen this system. In the field of energy security and green energy, the authorities continue to find additional resources to help citizens, offset energy bills and strengthen the country's energy independence. In this context, Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita said that over the past 30 years, the Moldovan authorities have not paid due attention to the country's energy security, which led to a crisis, adding that energy resources continue to rise in price at the global level. According to the Prime Minister, it is necessary to introduce new projects to address these issues. In turn, Maia Sandu drew attention to the fact that "green" energy requires investment and a different qualitative approach to this issue. In particular, it is necessary to learn how to efficiently use energy resources, both on the part of the state and the private sector. The President also drew attention to the fact that a separate agenda of the authorities is the fight against global inflation, demography and migration. According to Maia Sandu, Moldovan citizens continue to leave the country. Moldova has the highest level of migration in Europe. According to the president, in order to keep citizens in the country, it is necessary to find solutions to improve living standards, in particular through strengthening the work of state institutions, maintaining an honest policy, fighting corruption, etc. A separate topic, constantly supervised by the government, is the growth of the economy. To do this, the authorities intend to create even more favorable conditions for entrepreneurship throughout the country, and not just in Chisinau. Also, the government will continue to attract more and more foreign investors, which will contribute to the development of infrastructure in Moldova. In this context, Moldovan Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita stressed that the authorities want to achieve growth not only of GDP, but also of the standard of living of every citizen of our country. She also drew attention to the fact that Moldova is a small country and it will be very difficult for it to cope with global crises (pandemic, migration, security), therefore cooperation with external partners is extremely important. In addition, it is necessary to continue strengthening the agricultural sector, which is important for the growth of the country's economy, but also to develop new areas: pharmaceuticals, transport and logistics, IT, education, etc. The government will place a special emphasis on the security of every citizen, both at the level of social issues and global - food, energy and regional security. The annual international conference MACRO 2022 is organized in partnership between the Government of Moldova, the Independent Expert Center Expert-Grup and the Friedrich Ebert Foundation with the support of the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) in Moldova./ 23.02.2022 — InfoMarket
