NAER once again postponed the meeting on the issue of increasing electricity tariffs and scheduled it for February 25
It should be noted that earlier the National Agency for Energy Regulation canceled the meeting scheduled for February 16 on the issue of increasing electricity tariffs and rescheduled it for February 23. The reason for the postponement of the meeting was not indicated by the energy regulator. However, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Andrei Spinu admitted earlier that the decision to postpone the NAER meeting on the issue of approving new tariffs was taken as part of the institutional cooperation of the sectoral department with the energy regulator in order to wait a bit and see if a decision can be reached on maintaining the Moldovan GRES of the previous purchase price for electricity for another year. It is planned that soon the Moldavskaya GRES should make a final decision on the possibility of maintaining the selling price for electricity for consumers on the right bank of the Dniester at the level of 5.35 cents per kWh, and the final decision on this matter will be extremely important, including for NAER, which will consider the request of electricity distribution companies to increase tariffs for end consumers. According to Andrei Spinu, if the new contract for the supply of electricity provides for a higher price for electricity, then the tariff for final consumers in Moldova may exceed 3 lei per kWh, since in Ukraine the cost of electricity is 2 times higher than in Moldova, and in the region - 4-5 times more. From the previously published draft resolutions of NAER, it follows that electricity tariffs for residential consumers Premier Energy can be increased by 43% by the energy regulator - up to 2.16 lei per 1 kWh without VAT, and for residential consumers served by Furnizare Energie Electrică Nord, increased by 20.6% - up to 2.46 lei per 1 kWh (excluding VAT). At the same time, Veaceslav Untila, Director General of the National Agency for Energy Regulation, noted earlier that electricity tariffs in Moldova for end consumers will be increased in two stages. The first stage will take place in February, and the next stage of electricity tariff increase is expected after April 1, when a new contract for the supply of electricity will be signed, its new purchase price and the amount of negative deviations of electricity distribution companies will be known. It should be noted that the last adjustment of electricity tariffs for end consumers in Moldova was made at the end of January 2021, and then, by the decision of NAER, electricity tariffs for residential consumers of Premier Energy decreased from February 1, 2021 by 10.1% - to 151 bani per 1 kWh, and for residential consumers FEE Nord decreased by 4.7% - up to 204 bani per 1 kWh. //22.02.2022 — InfoMarket.
