The Chisinau City Council approved the draft municipal budget for 2026 in two readings

The draft budget for Chisinau City was approved in the first and second readings, with revenues of 9.6 billion lei (including 4.9 billion lei in transfers from the state budget), expenditures of 10.7 billion lei, and a deficit of 1.2 billion lei. The draft was approved by 27 councilors. It is worth noting that consultations on the draft municipal budget for the current year were held back in December 2025, and a second round of discussions on the adjusted draft were held back in May 2026.
