The State Tax Service warns about fake notifications: fraudsters are using the institution's symbols in messages about “funds being blocked”

According to the agency, fraudsters are sending taxpayers fake notifications about temporary withholding of funds via WhatsApp. The messages are allegedly signed by State Tax Service’s Director Olga Golban and sent on behalf of a person posing as an employee of a foreign regulator. The State Tax Service emphasized that these documents are fake: they use an incorrect service portal address, fictitious details, as well as QR codes and barcodes used exclusively for electronic tax invoices. Official correspondence of the State Tax Service is conducted only in digital format with the use of electronic signatures.
