The average salary in Moldova in 2023 amounted to 629 euros ($680).
This is stated in the monthly report of the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization on the socio-economic situation of Moldova. It is noted that the average monthly salary in Moldova (gross) in 2023 amounted to 12,354.7 lei, increasing both in nominal (+17.3%) and real terms (+3.5%) compared to 2022. In the budgetary sector, the average salary amounted to 10,451 lei (+18.2% in nominal terms and +4.2% - in real terms), in the real sector of the economy - 13,015.6 lei (+17% and, respectively, +3.1%). Overall, the monthly disposable income of the population in 2023 amounted to 4,916 lei, 15.6% more than in 2022 in nominal terms and 1.9% more in real terms. Expenses of the population amounted to 4248 lei per month, up by 14.5% in nominal terms compared to the previous year and by 0.9% in real terms. The subsistence minimum in 2023 averaged 2877 lei, which is 9.5% more compared to 2022 in nominal terms, but 3.5% less in real terms. The number of employed population in Moldova in 2023 amounted to 886.9 thousand people, which is by 2.9% more than in the previous year. This growth is explained by the increase in the number of employed women from 48.5% to 49.8%.
