Monthly inflation in Moldova in March 2024 amounted to 0.46% against 0.71% a month earlier and 0.81% in March 2023.
This was reported by the National Bureau of Statistics, noting that, in particular, average consumer prices in March 2024, compared to February 2024, increased by 0.46% due to an increase in food prices by 0.51%, for non-food products - by 0.76%, while tariffs for services provided to the population decreased by 0.1%. According to the NBS, in March 2024, compared to February 2024, among food products, the more pronounced increase in average consumer prices was for fruits - by 4.2% and vegetables - by 2.3%. At the same time, during the reporting period, prices for chicken eggs decreased by 6%, sugar, meat, semi-finished meat products and canned food - by 0.3%, vegetable oil - by 0.2%. As for non-food products, in the reporting period average consumer prices for materials for home maintenance and repair increased by 1.2%, clothing - by 0.8%, medicines - by 0.7%, shoes - by 0.4%, fuel - by 0.1%, including gasoline - by 2.2%. Herewith, average prices for diesel fuel and liquefied gas decreased by 2.4% and 1.3%, respectively.
