
An explanatory screening session for Moldova on Chapter 4: Free Movement of Capital was held in Brussels.
According to the Ministry of Finance, the Moldovan delegation was led by Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov, and the session was also attended by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Finance Cristina Ixari and the Head of the Financial Sector Regulation Department Ana Litocenco, representatives of the National Bank of Moldova and the Office for European Integration. From Chisinau, members of the working group responsible for the transposition of Chapter 4 documents joined online. It includes representatives of the Ministry of Finance, the National Bank, the National Financial Market Commission, the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, the Customs Service and the Service for Prevention and Combating Money Laundering. The agenda of the meeting included such topical issues as free movement of capital and payments, financing opportunities for companies, capital market, payment systems, as well as preventing and combating money laundering and terrorism financing. During the explanatory screening session, the delegation of the working group responsible for Chapter 4, together with experts from the EU, held discussions and assessed the essential aspects for the implementation of EU legislation in accordance with the specific requirements of this chapter.
