Adrian Gheorghita, deputy director of AmCham, will be proposed to be appointed vice-chairman of the National Commission for the Financial Market.

According to the head of the parliamentary commission for economy, budget and finance, Dumitru Alaiba, the PAS parliamentary faction supported the candidacy of Adrian Gheorghita for the position of vice-chairman of the National Commission for the Financial Market (NCFM), and also confirmed support for the appointment of Cornelia Cozlovschi for the position of chairman of the NCFM. Adrian Gheorghita has an economic education, a master's degree in corporate finance and insurance. Currently, Georghita is Deputy Director of the American Chamber of Commerce in Moldova (AmCham), where he has been working for the last 10 years, representing the interests of the banking and non-banking finance sector in state institutions of the country. Let us recall that at the end of December 2021, Cornelia Cozlovschi was proposed for the position of member of the NCFM administrative council, her candidacy was approved by the parliamentary commission on economy, budget and finance. She has experience in banking and leasing, including top management and civil service. “In the coming days, we will complete all procedures in the legal commission and the economic commission, after which the candidacies of Georgita and Cozlovschi will be submitted to the parliament for approval,” Alaiba said, stressing that, in addition to these two candidates, two more specialists are needed to complete the administrative council. “The deadline for determining candidates for the main functions in the NCFM has almost expired, but we need to ensure incorruptible, professional and independent leadership in the commission to be sure that some stupid things do not happen and various schemes are not covered. We appoint for five years people responsible for a sector that is strategically important for the economy. I hope that in the coming days the NCFM will become functional,” Alaiba said. It should be noted that on September 9, 2021, the parliament recalled all members of the administrative council of the NCFM in full force after it recognized the work of the administrative council as “unsatisfactory and ineffective”. On October 7, 2021, the Parliament approved Vitalie Lemne as member and vice-chairman of the NCFM Administrative Council for a period of 5 years. The Administrative Council of the NCFM is a collegiate body consisting of 5 members, including the chairman, two vice-chairmen and two members. Thus, at present, the positions of chairman, deputy chairman and two members of the administrative council of the NCFM remain vacant. // 19.01.2022- InfoMarket.
