GDP growth in Moldova by the end of 2021 may amount to 10% in real terms - the government forecast.
This was stated by Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita, summing up the results of the past year. According to her, the eventful 2021 was both good and bad, in particular, a pandemic, a price crisis, instability at the international level. At the same time, in spite of all the crises, in 2021 Moldova experienced a steady economic growth, and a 10% increase in the gross domestic product is predicted in real terms. Much of the credit for this belongs to the agricultural sector. According to the prime minister, for agricultural producers 2021 was almost an ideal year, since good harvests were obtained, exports of domestic products increased, and drought in other parts of the world led to higher prices, which allowed our farmers to earn more than they planned. As noted by Natalia Gavrilita, other factors of growth of the Moldovan economy last year were the increase in labor productivity and consumption, the attraction of substantial external financing to the country, which inspired optimism in investors and the banking sector. As InfoMarket reported earlier, Moldova's GDP in January-September 2021 amounted to 174.1 billion lei, an increase of 10.3% compared to the same period in 2020. According to IMF forecasts, GDP growth in Moldova in 2021, will amount to 7.5%.// 04.01.2022 – InfoMarket.
