
The German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) will introduce a new assistance program in Moldova to support regional development.
The portfolio of this assistance will be supplemented by other donors - the European Union and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation. This was reported by the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure of Moldova, noting that this was discussed during the meeting of the department's leadership with the GIZ Program Mission, at which the parties discussed the evolution of the country's socio-economic development, reform measures carried out with the support of the GIZ, as well as the priorities of policies in the economic sphere. The mission members stressed that the new GIZ assistance program for Moldova will cover 2022-2026 with a focus on supporting the development of some regions, and the aid portfolio will be complemented by other donors: the EU and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation. In this context, were discussed the topics of interaction between central and local authorities on the economic bloc, coordination of national development plans with development plans at the regional level, state programs for supporting the business environment, priorities for the development of the small and medium-sized enterprises sector, consolidation of business support infrastructure, the need to develop / update urban plans of settlements, etc. In 2019-2021 the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure received assistance from the MEPA project to develop a Strategy for an inclusive, sustainable and digital economy until 2030; Social entrepreneurship programs for 2021-2025; Proposals for economic measures in the context of COVID-19; The Law on Collective Funding Services (Crowdfunding); Labor market research in Moldova, etc. //14.07.2021 — InfoMarket.
