Monthly inflation in Moldova was 0.05% in June 2021, annual inflation (for the last 12 months) - 3.16%, and in January-June 2021 - 3.86%.
The National Bureau of Statistics reported this, noting that registered deflation was 0.01% in June last year, inflation in January-June 2020 was 1.07%, and annual inflation in June last year was 4.25%. As noted by the NBM, consumer prices in June 2021 increased by an average of 0.05% compared to the previous month, against the background of an increase in prices for non-food products - by 0.7%, as well as an increase in tariffs for services provided to the population - by 0.28%, while food prices decreased by 0.78%. According to official statistics, in particular, in June 2021, compared to the previous month, the following food products rose in price: dry onions - by 25.1%, root crops - by 15.4%, fresh fruits - by 2.4% ( in particular: citrus fruits - by 21.1%, exotic fruits - by 10.7%), chicken eggs - by 2%, garlic - by 1.8%, ice cream - by 1.7%. At the same time, prices fell in the reporting period for the following products: berries - by 37.8%, fresh vegetables - by 11.5% (in particular, cucumbers - by 53.2%, cabbage - by 24.1%, sweet peppers, zucchini - by 19.2%, tomatoes - by 14.7%, fresh mushrooms - by 6.4%, potatoes - by 3.8%). As far as non-food products are concerned, then in June 2021, compared to the previous month, prices for materials meant for the maintenance and repair of housing increased by 4.9%, fuel - by 1.8% (in particular: diesel fuel - by 2.3%, gasoline - 1.7%), small tools and various accessories, furniture, sandals for men, women and children, children's goods, bicycles, jewelry - up to 5.2%. At the same time, in the same reporting month, prices for the following products fell slightly: liquefied gas in cylinders - by 2.2%, coats, winter jackets for adults and children, firewood, plants and flowers - up to 3.5%, etc. Among the services provided to the population, in June 2021, compared to the previous month, prices for housing repair and maintenance services increased by 12.8%, household services - by 9.4%, international tourism services - by 5. 7%, painters' services - by 2.5%, medical laboratory tests - by 2%.
