The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is preparing a Technical Cooperation Program with Moldova for 2022.

Various aspects of technical cooperation for the 2022 Japanese financial year, as well as a new strategy for cooperation with Moldova for 2021-2024 were discussed at a meeting of the Ministry of Finance leadership with the permanent representative of the JICA office in Moldova and Ukraine, Sugimoto Satoshi, who made his first visit to our country. According to the press service of the Ministry of Finance, Secretary of State Gabriela Cuneva thanked the representatives of JICA for their support and experience, expressing confidence that the fruitful dialogue established between the Moldovan state institutions and the Japanese agency will strengthen bilateral cooperation. Sugimoto Satoshi, in turn, expressed the readiness of the Japanese side to actively cooperate in the preparation and implementation of bilateral projects. The JICA technical cooperation program provides for a number of support measures: assistance from Japanese experts, training, supply of equipment necessary for providing technical assistance in the context of new projects, as well as joint participation of the Japanese side in ongoing projects. Within the framework of the Technical Cooperation Program for FY2021 (from April 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022), JICA approved assistance in the implementation of projects in Moldova in the field of water supply, prevention and control of co-morbid infections, as well as a series of training courses for public sector officials. // 02.07.2021 — InfoMarket
