The World Bank is launching on July 8 a comprehensive analysis of Moldova's public finance management system at the national and subnational levels.

The Ministry of Finance announced this, noting that the analysis will be carried out within the framework of funding provided by the European Union, and in partnership with the Ministry of Finance of Moldova and the UN-Women structure. The analysis is intended to provide a snapshot of the achievements of public finance management and an overall overview of the main strengths and weaknesses of the public finance management system by using a standard methodology that can be replicated in successive assessments, providing a summary of changes over time. The Public Expenditure and Financial Accountability Performance Assessment evaluates the extent to which the processes of public finance management systems and institutions contribute to the achievement of aggregate fiscal discipline, strategic resource allocation and efficient service delivery, and will for the first time take gender aspects into account in public finance management. Thus, over several months, an interdisciplinary team will work on data collection, consultation and publication of the final evaluation report, which will contribute to the development of a new public finance management strategy of the Moldovan government and provide a dialogue for future reform initiatives. In Moldova, the Public Expenditure and Financial Accountability Performance Assessment was conducted at the national level 4 times: in 2006, 2008, 2011 and 2015. // 08.07.2021 – InfoMarket
