The Ministry of Finance of Moldova announced this, noting that the budget of the program funded by the European Union is still unknown. The ministry informed that the national working group for coordinating the implementation of EU-funded programs of cross-border and transnational cooperation held an extended meeting with the members of the Moldovan delegation in the Joint Programming Committee of the future Interreg NEXT Romania-Republic of Moldova 2021-2027 program. The meeting discussed the Territorial Analysis of the future Interreg NEXT Romania-republic of Moldova 2021-2027 program. This document provides a territorial analysis of the eligible territory of the Interreg NEXT Romania-Republic of Moldova 2021-2027 Program (4 counties in Romania and the entire territory of Moldova) from an economic, social and environmental point of view, and identifies the main problems common to both countries. The strategy document will form the basis of the future program and will include, in addition to the main conclusions on the main challenges the respective program area is facing, specific Interreg policy objectives / targets proposed for funding to meet existing needs in various areas. In the process of developing the territorial analysis, the official statistics of both countries were studied, as well as consultations were held with the relevant stakeholders at the local and national level - government bodies / institutions, representatives of civil society from the two countries, etc. The results of the analysis will be presented by the Program Management Body (Ministry of Development, Public Works and Administration of Romania) at the next meeting of the Joint Programming Committee, a bilateral structure composed of experts from local, regional and central public administration from Moldova and Romania. The budget for the future program is still unknown. It should be noted that the budget of the Romania-Republic of Moldova joint operational program for 2014-2020 is 81 million euros (grants), and the obligatory co-financing of beneficiaries is 10% of the value of the contribution of the European Union. The counties of Botosani, Iasi, Vaslui, Galati from Romania, as well as all districts of Moldova can participate in projects under the Program. The aim of the program is to implement projects aimed at creating partnerships between entities on both sides of the border, bringing benefits to the communities in the border area. // 13.07.2021 – InfoMarket
