
For 5 months of 2021, the Customs Service (CS) transferred 10.2 billion lei to the state budget of Moldova, which is 25% more than in the same period last year.
At the same time, despite the pandemic and restrictions, CS receipts increased even in comparison with 5 months of 2019 - by 21%. According to the CS, in May receipts amounted to 2.1 billion lei, which is 45% more than in May 2020. In total, almost 44 thousand customs declarations were processed in May, and vehicles crossed the border almost 205 thousand times. The busiest customs posts were Leuseni and Sculeni - 65.5 thousand and 37.4 thousand crossings, respectively. During the month, customs officials found 737 violations of customs legislation, 322 protocols on violations were drawn up and fines totaling more than 1 million lei were charged.
