
Small and medium-sized enterprises of Moldova will receive assistance in greening their business.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure, the SME Greening Program and the tools it offers were presented to ODIMM as part of an online information session for entrepreneurs. As the Secretary of State Iuliana Dragalin noted, the program of state support for enterprises oriented towards economic activity, taking into account the environment, interested in the responsible use of energy and resources, efficient management of raw materials, recycling and reuse of waste, is being implemented in Moldova for the first time. According to her, within the framework of the first competition of projects aimed at supporting the greening of business, investment projects totaling about 4.8 million lei were selected. They will receive gratuitous financing totaling 2.3 million lei. Iuliana Dragalin emphasized that greening SMEs will expand the potential for using the benefits of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement with the EU, open up a number of new opportunities and help achieve the environmental goals set for 2030. Let us recall that the Greening SMEs Program was approved by the Government of Moldova on November 27, 2019 with a pilot period of 36 months. It is implemented by ODIMM under the leadership of the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure. Each investment project within the framework of this program can receive up to 200 thousand lei in a grant, while the grant component should not exceed 70% of the total investment in the project.
