According to the National Bank of Moldova, the share of deposits attracted in lei amounted to 70.8%, in foreign currency - 29.2%. In particular, the volume of deposits attracted in national currency amounted to 2 billion 638.6 million lei, decreasing by 22.4% compared to the previous month. At the same time, the volume of funds raised in foreign currency, recalculated in Moldovan lei, amounted to 1 billion 087.6 million lei, which is 3.6% lower than the previous month. From the point of view of terms of placement, the largest share had deposits attracted for a period from 6 to 12 months, the share of which amounted to 35.9% of the total volume of time deposits, and deposits attracted for a period from 2 to 5 -years, the share of which amounted to 22.1% of the total. Deposits of individuals in February 2024 amounted to 3 billion 103.1 million lei, decreasing by 12.8% compared to the previous month. Herewith, deposits of individuals in lei in February 2024, compared to the previous month, decreased by 11.9% - to 2 billion 293.1 million lei, and in foreign currency - decreased by 15% - to 810 million lei (in equivalent). Deposits of legal entities in February 2024, compared to the previous month, generally decreased by 36% - to 621.8 million lei.
