
The volume of personal remittances received by Moldovan residents in 2023 decreased by 2% compared to 2022, amounting to $1 billion 946.29 million.
The National Bank of Moldova (NBM) reported this, noting that this refers to the amounts of net remuneration of employees, personal remittances and capital transfers between households. Overall, the volume of personal remittances amounted to 11.8% of GDP in 2023. It amounted to $465.38 million in Q1, $508.33 million in Q2, $493.32 million in Q3 and $479.26 million in Q4. According to the NBM, meanwhile, remittances for workers' compensation in 2023 amounted to $760.46 million (+6.7% to 2022), personal transfers amounted to $1 billion 122.61 million (-6.7%) and capital between households amounted to $63.22 million (-10.3%). In total, the volume of personal transfers received by Moldovan residents from EU countries in 2023 amounted to $1 billion 127.83 million, up by 15.4% compared to 2022, from CIS countries - decreased by 42.8% - to $253.22 million, and from non-EU and CIS countries - decreased by 0.3% - to $565.24 million. // 04.04.2024 – InfoMarket
