The net profit of Moldovan banks in January-February 2024 amounted to 573.2 million lei, decreasing by 34.9% (-308.1 million) compared to the same period in 2023.

According to the National Bank of Moldova, all 11 banks in the country received a profit in the first 2 months of this year. At the same time, 507.84 million lei (88.6% of the total net profit) fell to the share of 4 banks: Maib, Moldindconbank, OTP Bank and Victoriabank. The remaining 7 banks earned approximately 65.4 million lei in net profit. Herewith, only one of the banks that made a profit in January-February 2024 saw its volumes increase compared to the same period in 2023, while for 10 banks it decreased. As follows from the data presented by the National Bank of Moldova, in particular, in January-February 2024 the largest net profit was received by: Maib - 227.23 million lei (in January-February 2023 - 200.19 million lei), Moldindconbank - 149.15 million lei (225.18 million lei), OTP Bank - 73.68 million lei (160.81 million) and Victoriabank - 57.78 million lei (154.65 million). Next in terms of net profit in January-February 2024 are: FinComBank - 15.58 million lei (in January-February 2023 - 30.15 million lei), Eximbank - 14.72 million lei (16.7 million lei), BCR Chisinau - 13.44 million lei (25.57 million lei), ProCreditBank – 13.18 million lei (31.17 million lei), Energbank – 6.47 million lei (16.37 million lei), EuroCreditBank - 1.1 million lei (7.08 million) and Comerțbank - 0.85 million lei (13.34 million). // 20.03.2024 — InfoMarket
