
The National Bank of Moldova (NBM) will hold a series of events within the International Financial Literacy Week (Global Money Week 2024) from March 18 to 24.
According to the press service of the institution, in partnership with the Independent Think-Tank Expert-Grup and the National Museum of History of Moldova, the National Bank will hold workshops, exhibitions of coins of different times and financial literacy lessons for children and young people throughout the country. In particular, within Global Money Week, from March 18 to 22, those interested will be able to visit the NBM exhibition hall, listen to a brief history of the national currency and admire the collection of commemorative and jubilee gold and silver coins. From March 18 to 24, the National Museum of Moldovan History will host interactive workshops on financial topics, as well as exhibit a collection of ancient coins. "Financial education is about giving people the skills they need to improve their well-being and contribute to the development of the country's economy. Such education starts at an early age. Children and youth must be prepared for the future. As the central bank, which is the national coordinator of the financial education process, we want to pass on to the younger generation information that will form a solid foundation, so that later on they will be able to assess the economic situation and make the right financial decisions," said Anca Dragu, Governor of the National Bank. Participation in the event is possible by pre-registration, and visits to the National Bank will be organized in groups of up to 35 people, visiting time - from 13:00 to 16:00. Children over 9 years old can participate in the event. Schoolchildren must be accompanied by an adult who will be responsible for their safety during the excursion or master class.
