
Moldovan banks' income from exchange rate differences in January-August 2023 amounted to 1 billion 124.5 million lei, up by 66.2 million (6.2%), compared to the same period of 2022.
According to the data of the National Bank of Moldova, the biggest profit from the exchange rate difference in 8 months of 2023 was received by maib: 327.6 mln lei against 308.4 mln lei for the same period a year earlier. OTP Bank was on the 2nd place according to the above-mentioned indicator. In January-August 2023, it received income from the exchange rate difference in the amount of over 192.7 million lei, whereas in the same period a year earlier this indicator amounted to 172 million lei. The 3rd place was occupied by Moldindconbank, which had similar income for January-August 2023 amounting to 165.6 million lei against 152.3 million lei for the same period of 2022.
