
In January-August 2022, Moldovan banks’ income from exchange rate differences amounted to 1 billion 058.35 million lei, up 324.4 million (+44.2%) as compared to the same period of 2021.
According to the data of the National Bank of Moldova, the biggest profit from the exchange rate difference in 8 months of 2022 was obtained by maib: 308.38 million lei against 203.19 million lei for the same period a year earlier. OTP Bank was placed on the 2nd place, having earned in January-August 2022 over 172 million lei (108 million lei in the same period last year). The third place was occupied by Victoriabank with similar revenues of 157.16 million lei for January-August 2022 as compared to 93.54 million lei for the same period of 2021.
