
BEM, Banca Socială and Unibank liquidated as of the end of the first half of 2022 repaid 2 billion 715.46 million lei out of the 14.1 billion lei emergency loans previously granted by the NBM.
In particular, Banca de Economii repaid 1 billion 526.22 million lei, Banca Socială - 849 million lei and Unibank - 340.24 million lei. The National Bank of Moldova (NBM) informed about it, reminding that both funds on the accounts of the three banks at the day of revocation of their licenses and those received later by the liquidators are used for expenditures in the liquidation process, as well as for repayment of banks' debts under urgent loans. From the day of the revocation of licenses up to and including the end of H1 2022, bank liquidators paid to the National Bank and the Ministry of Finance some debts under the emergency loans granted to banks prior to the appointment of liquidators which, according to the procedure for repayment of claims, are the priority ones for payment. In total, the amount of used emergency loans, previously received by banks from the NBM under state guarantees, amounted to 14 billion 121.75 million lei, including: Banca de Economii used 9.27 billion lei term credits, Banca Socială - 2.7 billion lei, Unibank - 2.15 billion lei. The cumulative repayments of banks to the National Bank of Moldova from the day of license revocation until October 3, 2016 inclusive amounted to 780 million 558 thousand lei, including, Banca de Economii repaid to the NBM during this period about 190.2 million lei, Banca Socială - 308 million lei and Unibank -282.3 million lei. The amount of loans outstanding to NBM and converted into government securities amounted to 13 billion 341.2 million lei, including for Banca de Economii - 9.08 billion lei, Banca Socială - 2.39 billion lei and Unibank - 1.86 billion lei. Total repayments to the Ministry of Finance from October 4, 2016 until the end of the first half of 2022, inclusive, amounted to 1 billion 934.9 million lei, including for Banca de Economii this figure amounted to 1 billion 336 million lei, Banca Socială - 541 million lei, Unibank - 57.9 million lei. At the same time, in Q2 2022 all three banks paid 29 million lei, including Banca de Economii - 4 million lei, Banca Socială - 22 million lei and Unibank - 3 million lei.
