
The net profit of Moldovan banks in January-August 2022 amounted to 2 billion 406.81 million lei, exceeding the figures for the whole of 2021 (2.28 billion lei).
In particular, compared to the same period last year, it increased by 988.85 million lei (+69.7%). According to the National Bank of Moldova, profit for 8 months this year received all 11 banks. At the same time, about 1 billion 987.2 million lei (82.6% of the total net profit) fell on the share of 4 banks: maib, Moldindconbank, Victoriabank and OTP Bank. Another 7 banks earned approximately 419.61 million lei of net profit. Herewith, 10 banks that made a profit in January-August 2022 increased its volumes compared to the same period in 2021, while 1 bank’s profit decreased. As follows from the data provided by the National Bank of Moldova, in particular, for 8 months in 2022, the largest net profit was received by: maib - 715.99 million lei (in January-August 2021 - 430.26 million lei), Moldindconbank - 674.93 million lei (388.66 million), Victoriabank - 407.32 million lei (217.36 million) and OTP Bank - 188.95 million lei (189.95 million).
