
In January-February 2022, Moldovan banks' income from exchange rate differences amounted to 227 million lei, an increase of 67.8 million (+42.6%) compared to the same period in 2021.
According to the data of the National Bank of Moldova, the largest profit from the exchange rate difference for 2 months of 2022 was received by maib: 64.63 million lei against 41.79 million lei for the same period a year earlier. OTP Bank, ranked 2nd, in January-February 2022 received foreign exchange income in the amount of about 37.07 million lei (the same period a year earlier - 23.28 million lei). The 3rd place was taken by Moldindconbank, whose similar income in January-February 2022 amounted to 36.52 million lei against 28.05 million lei for the same period in 2021.
