According to the National Bank of Moldova, the share of deposits attracted in lei amounted to 68.2%, in foreign currency - 31.8%. In particular, the volume of deposits attracted in national currency amounted to 1 billion 378.9 million lei, having decreased by 5% compared to the previous month, but increased by 88.4% compared to April 2020. Herewith, the volume of funds attracted in foreign currency, recalculated in Moldovan lei, amounted to 643.5 million lei, decreasing by 20.6% compared to the previous month, but being 32.6% higher than in April 2020. According to the NBM in April 2021, attracted deposits were mainly represented by deposits of individuals - 70.5% of the total volume, while 45% were deposits attracted in national currency, and 25.5% - in foreign currency. The most attractive in terms of the terms of placement were deposits attracted for a period of 2 to 5 years, whose share amounted to 38.7% of the total volume of term deposits.
